New Delhi: One of the most controversial shows on Indian television at present, 'Pehredaar Piya Ki' received a major blow after the channel didn't telecast it on the night of August 28, 2017.
The show has been in trouble ever since it went on air. According to dnaindia.com, the channel has apparently pulled it off after receiving much flak for airing a regressive show.
The show has been at the centre of controversies for projecting objectionable content where a 9-year old boy getting married to an 18-year-old girl forms the basic plot. After the online petition to ban the show reached the ministry, the time slot was changed from prime time 8 pm to late night 10 pm.
But looks like even that hasn't done any good and finally, the channel pulled off the plug. Dnaindia.com originally attributes the report to Hindustan Times and quotes the actor Jiten Lalwani, who stars in the show as saying, “Yes. If the episode hasn’t aired then you know the news is true.”
Former 'Bigg Boss' contestant Suyyash Rai, too is shocked at this sudden change of events. “If this is happening, then I am shocked. I was waiting to re-enter the show after the leap. Tejaswi is a close friend so I wanted to be a support to her and work with her. I wanted the show to do well as a lot of hard work goes into a show when it is launched. So many people including technicians will lose their jobs when the show shuts,” he has been quoted as saying.
