New Delhi: School goers of all government and government-aided schools across Uttar Pradesh will now have to possess Aadhaar cards for availing mid-day meal from June 30, authorities said on Friday.
According to Meerut district Basic Education Officer Iqbal Singh, the state government had asked all district authorities to implement the decision.
The school authorities were making efforts to get all students enrolled for Aadhaar card, added Singh.
Earlier this year, the Union Human Resource Development Ministry had mandated the possession of Aadhaar cards for midday meals in schools.
