Lucknow: In a shocking statement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday mocked the parents in connection with recent Gorakhpur tragedy, where over 290 children died at Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College.

“The moment children turn two-years-old, I feel that parents might just start dumping their responsibilities on the government,” said the Adityanath


Another 42 children died in 48 hours at the BRD Medical College. Over 290 children have died in the hospital in the month of August.


Taking a dig at Zee Media's recent sting operation that exposed government doctors promoting private practice, Adityanath said, “Media often points out at the scattered trash. We agree, it's the government's responsibility. Seems like every we're now free of all responsibilities.”


A Zee News out that top government doctors are blatantly flouting rules, running their own private clinics and asking healthy patients to pay for unnecessary medicines and tests. 


The state has now announced a probe into the case.


The Chief Minister was speaking at the 'Start-up Bus Yatra' event from the scientific convention centre in the state capital of Lucknow. He announced that the state government has earmarked a fund of Rs 1,000 crore for helping start-ups.


Earlier today, BJP announced that Yogi Adityanath and two Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma will contest the forthcoming by-polls to the legislative council.
