Fuel theft by using electronic chips: UP STF seals seven petrol pumps in Lucknow

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) Thursday night raided seven petrol pumps in Lucknow to check petrol and diesel theft.

During the raid, the STF officials found electronic chip at a few pumps, which were used for fuel theft.

It was found that if a customer asked for five litres of fuel, he/she was getting half litre less fuel than the demand.

And all this was possible with the chips inserted in the fuel vending machines.

The officials sealed the seven petrol pumps.
