Noida car gang-rape: Woman lodged false complaint out of anger, claims police
Hours after she accused two men of abducting and raping her inside a car, the 25-year-old woman told police that she had filed a fake complaint of rape out of anger.
Noida: Hours after she accused two men of abducting and raping her inside a car, the 25-year-old woman told police that she had filed a fake complaint of rape out of anger and that she did not want any action in the case.
"The woman alleged she was abducted from here, gang-raped in a moving car and then dumped in Delhi. However, hours later she did a volte-face saying she had lodged a false complaint out of anger," said Noida Police PRO Manish Saxena.
"The victim had refused an internal examination and did not hand over her cell phone for investigation," he said.
The investigating officer sent her for a medical examination but she went home without the medical check-up, the police claimed. She was again brought to the hospital for medical examination. She again refused the medical examination and gave it to doctors in writing that she did not want herself examined, the police said.
Saxena said that the woman also gave a letter to the police stating she had lodged a "false gang rape case against two persons out of anger" and that she did not want any action in the case.
Saxena said that the woman had lodged FIR number 1033/17 under IPC section 376 D (pertaining to gang rape) at 2.50 am today.
Earlier in the day, the woman, who is employed at a BPO here, had accused two men of abducting her from near Noida's Golf Course metro station. The woman told the police that the men took turns to rape her inside a moving car and then dumped her near the Akshardham temple in Delhi.
After the woman's complaint, a FIR was lodged at the Sector 39 police station.
According to police officials, the woman was waiting for a cab near the Golf Course metro station when a Scorpio car stopped near her.
"The occupants of the car asked for directions towards a particular location. As she was responding to their query, the men pulled her into the vehicle and drove away," an official said adding that the men allegedly raped her for nearly 3 hours after which they dumped her near the Akshardham temple in Delhi.
"They raped the woman in a car, took her to Delhi, fled after leaving her near Akshardham Temple. A case has been registered u/s 376 D and 506 Indian Penal Code," a police official told ANI earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, the police said they will continue the investigation. "The police is probing the matter in detail to bring out the truth as the women may have reversed her version out of fear," the official said.
