COVID-19 guidelines will be followed: With the opening of the school, the management has to follow the COVID-19 protocol. Schools have to be sanitized. Proper seating will have to be arranged. Children and teachers will have to come together in masks. In March 2020, schools were closed even with the onset of an outbreak of coronavirus. Now after about a year, the children will leave their homes and step into school.

Classes from 9-12 started from November 2020: The government is gradually opening institutions. Classes from class 9-12 started operating from November 2020. After this, now on March 1, schools will start with their full strength.

With the opening of schools, parents need to take care that their children are safe. Parents should send their children with sanitiser to school and make complete preparations. They should make sure that their children have safe food and drinks with them so that they do not have to eat anything from outside.

The habit of washing hands frequently and maintaining a distance of at least two yards must be made. The school management should make sure that the COVID-19 protocol is followed completely in classrooms.

The Uttarakhand government has issued orders asking schools all over the state to resume Classes 6 to 11 offline from February 8. However, it also asked the school administrations to ensure COVID-19 appropriate behaviour on part of both students and teachers.

The order issued by Chief Secretary Om Prakash asked the schools to appoint a nodal officer to see that regular sanitising of classrooms, thermal screening of each student and teacher mask-wearing and social distancing norms are complied with. Classes 10 and 12 have been open in the state since November 2020. The decision for the physical resumption of Classes 6-11 from February 8 had been taken by the state cabinet recently.
