Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh BJP will hold seminars on issues involving Muslim women, including triple talaq, as part of Jan Sangh stalwart Deen Dayal Upadhyay's birth centenary celebrations by the party.

The party will also undertake a number of social activities beginning from July 15 with a tree plantation programme in the state which will continue for 10 days.


"The office bearers of the party's minority cell have been asked to highlight the issues being faced by Muslim women, including triple talaq. This will be held from September 1 to September 15," UP BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said.


"With the BJP observing 'Gareeb Kalyan Varsh' this year on the occasion of the birth centenary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, the party has decided to organise a number of events, which will integrate the party workers with the last strata of the society," he said.


The BJP leader said the party workers will organise a blood donation camp on August 14 after which a directory of donors along with their blood group will be published.


Another ambitious social outreach programme of the BJP is to connect with the orphans and the widows.


"Apart from this, the party under the theme of Seva, Sanyogi, and Sangam will work for the protection of cows, animals and also environment conservation. This will be undertaken from August 8 to August 13," he said.


Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will pan out throughout Uttar Pradesh to identify sportspersons in far-off places of the state to extend assistance to them.


The Mahila Morcha of the party will also work in close co-ordination with Anganwadi workers, ASHA health workers, and other women organisations.
