India@75: Why did Nehru declare a ceasefire in the war against Pakistan?

Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India, declared a ceasefire on his behalf. This announcement came when India was very close to victory. With the announcement of the ceasefire, one-third of Kashmir was occupied by Pakistan. This was also one of the blunders that India can never forget.
