Cloves, commonly used as a spice, are a rich source of eugenol, a natural anaesthetic and antiseptic, which makes it a common remedy for pain relief, especially toothache.
Here are several ways to use cloves to relieve toothache.
Place one to three whole pieces next to the aching tooth and grind them once they soften.
Add ¼ teaspoon of olive oil to ⅛ teaspoon of ground close and apply the mixture to the inflamed area in the mouth.
You can directly apply some clove oil to the affected area and let it sit for twenty minutes. Make sure to not swallow the oil.
Steep one teaspoon of clove in 470ml of boiling water, but, remember not to consume it a lot as cloves have blood-thinning properties.
Add 2-3 drops of clove oil to ½ teaspoon of olive oil. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture, place it on the affected areas and gently bite down on it.
