Eight killed as bus falls into canal in West Bengal`s Nadia canal
West Bengal government announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of eight persons who died in the bus accident.
Kolkata: At least eight persons were killed and 25 injured when a bus fell into a canal in West Bengal's Nadia on Tuesday.
The accident occurred near Tehatta area when the bus lost control and fell off a bridge on Nadia canal.
As per ANI, eight people were killed on the spot after the incident took place. Those injured with serious injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal government announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of eight persons who died in the bus accident.
