The Pakistan National Assembly Deputy Speaker has today (April 3) rejected the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan and declared it unconstitutional. The Deputy Speaker said that it's against the Constitution and the rules of Pakistan.

Imran Khan has now advised President to dissolve the National Assembly and has called for fresh elections.

It is notable that Imran Khan's career was at stake as a united opposition had tabled a no-confidence motion against the cricketer-turned-politician for a parliamentary session today. If they remain united, Khan is set to fall below the 172 votes needed to survive the no-confidence vote.

Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad in view of possible violence.
