Because that all these drought-hit farmers could afford.

Rayalaseema Saguneeti Sadhana Samiti (RSSS), a non-profit group working towards the welfare of drought-hit farmers in Rayalaseema, sent 400 cheques of 68 paise each to the Prime Minister.

The idea behind it is to draw attention to the grave state of the farmers in four districts in the region – Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor.

Farmers claim the centre has continued to completely ignore Rayalaseema and its farmers who are struggling to make ends meet.

RSSS claimed that Rayalaseema remains continues to be one of the most backward regions in the country despite the abundance of resources.

The farmers also alleged that the state and centre politicians are not interested in the agrarian crisis in Rayalaseema due to the lack of political influence it carries.

With the help of the unique gift, the group hopes to draw centre's attention to the region.
