WhatsApp will stop working on these phones from June 30 - Check out
If you use one of these affected mobile devices, here is what you can do.
New Delhi: From June 30 instant messaging app WhatsApp will no longer support a few phones.
So if you are still operating on one of these, it is high time you got another phone.
WhatsApp has said that it will stop supporting the following platforms:
BlackBerry OS
BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60
Explaining the reason, WhatsApp in its support page said, “These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version, or to a newer Android running OS 2.3.3+, iPhone running iOS 7+, or Windows Phone 8+ so that you can continue using WhatsApp.”
“Once you have one of these devices, simply install WhatsApp and verify your phone number on the new device,” it added.
Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.
There is currently no option to transfer your chat history between platforms. However, WhatsApp provides the option to send your chat history attached to an email.
The following platforms are no longer supported as of the beginning of 2017:
Android versions older than 2.3.3
Windows Phone 7
iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
