Jinnah had raised Dina alone after his separation from his wife Rattanbai Petit. She was born in August 1919.

However, their relationship was strained after she fell in love with an Indian Parsi named Neville Wadia with whom she eventually got married.

Dina and Neville lived in Mumbai and had two children.

She first visited Pakistan in 1948 when she lost her father, just a year after Pakistan was created.
