German automaker Audi launched the petrol-powered Q3 at a price of Rs 32.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) today. The smallest SUV from Audi becomes the first among the ‘Q’ models to receive a petrol engine in their India lineup. It is the fourth new offering from Audi India in 2017. Prior to this, the Ingolstadt-based auto giant launched the A4 diesel and the updated versions of the A3 Cabriolet and the Q3 SUV.

The petrol engine that powers the Q3 in India is the same 1.4-litre TFSI unit that does duty in the recently launched A3 Cabriolet. The turbocharger bolted to the engine helps produce 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The engine in the Q3 comes mated to an all-new 6-speed S tronic transmission which sends power to the front wheels. This set-up helps the SUV crack the 0-100kmph sprint in 8.9 seconds and achieve an ARAI-certified fuel-economy of 16.9kmpl.

On the outside, the Q3 comes with LED headlights with its signature LED-powered daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and panoramic sunroof. Inside the cabin, it is business as usual from Audi. The feature-list includes leather/leatherette seat upholstery, LED interior lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, Hill Start/Hill Descent Assist, coloured driver information display, voice recognition, cruise control and six airbags.

The newest member of the Q3 family is also the most affordable of the lot. The other two variants - 2.0 TDI FWD and 2.0 TDI quattro - are priced at Rs 34.2 lakh and Rs 37.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. Audi is now gearing up to launch the revamped version of the A3 sedan on April 6, 2017.
