British couple allegedly harassed while camping in Bihar, two arrested
Two men were on Tuesday arrested for allegedly misbehaving and trying to loot a British couple in Pandarak in Bihar while they were camping on river Ganga's bank.
Narrating the ordeal, British man Matthew said: "The two men came with weapons and sticks, misbehaved and tried to loot us. We somehow crossed the river and sought help from police."
Confirming the incident, police said they will ensure a speedy trial into the case. "The men were arrested within two hours. A speedy trial will be done and it will be seen that such incidents do not recur," SSP Patna said.
The incident comes days after a German national was allegedly beaten by a railway contractor at the Robertsganj railway station in the district in Sonebhadra. Recently, a Swiss couple was also chased and attacked with stones and sticks by a group of five youths in Fatehpur Sikri.
The Swiss couple said that they were strolling near the station at Fatehpur Sikri in Agra when a group of men started following them and later attacked them. They claimed that they while they lay on the ground bruised, bystanders took videos of them on their mobile phones.
