Patna: A journalist working with a Hindi daily was shot at in Bihar's Alwar district on Thursday.

The journalist was identified as Pankaj Mishra. He is associated with Rashtriya Sahara.


Mishra was attacked by two men of his village, while he was coming out of a bank with Rs one lakh cash.


After pumping bullets into Mishra, the attackers fled with the cash.


Giving details regarding the incident, Alwar SP, Dilip Kumar said Mishra was attacked because of personal enmity.


The senior police officer further confirmed that one of the attackers was arrested by the police.


Pankaj Mishra was first taken to a primary health centre from where he was shifted to Arwal Sadar hospital. He was then moved Patna Medical College and Hospital.


The journalist is out of danger as per medical reports.
