South Korea replaces nearly half its cabinet
President Kim Dae-Jung replaced nearly half his 19 cabinet posts on Monday, appointing a career economic technocrat to the post in charge of the country`s economic policy.
Kim retained Prime Minister Lee Han-Dong in the reshuffle that affected a total of nine posts. Most of the ministries
affected are economic posts.
Jim Nyum, 59, who has served as chief budget planner under the current government since 1998, was appointed head of the ministry of finance and economy.
