Though Aamir did not mentioned the team member's name, however, soon after he moved out of the project, film co-producer Bhushan Kumar announced that director Subhash Kapoor was sacked from the film. Subhash has been accused by a small-time actress of raping her and the matter is currently in court.

Here's Aamir and Kiran Rao said in a statement early this month:

However, in the latest, the actor is reportedly onboard the project again after Kapoor was removed from the director's chair following allegations of rape and sexual misconduct against him. A Pinkvilla report said that Aamir and Kiran have joined the project again and the team has approached 'Sanju' filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani to helm the project.

Reportedly, Hirani has read and loved the script. Since he shares a great rapport with Aamir, possibilities of him stepping into the director's hat are great. However, there has been non official confirmation on the same.

As per reports, the process of casting will begin soon.
