New Delhi: Varun Dhawan, who played the lead in 'Badlapur' gave an outstanding performance and was praised by the critics for this dark and twisty role.

Recently, there was a strong buzz that this time there would be a female lead in the sequel. In fact, it was also stated that Deepika Padukone will be seen as the lead in the second installment of the 'Badlapur' franchise.


According to a report by Bollywoodlife.com, producer Dinesh Vijan has denied all the reports of Deepika being the lead in 'Badlapur 2'. He also stated there will be no female lead in the movie.


Dinesh, who is currently busy with his upcoming release 'Raabta' which also marks his directorial debut said that there is no female lead and the casting of the film is yet to be finalised.


The report also said that Varun has signed two major projects after 'Badri Nath Ki Dhulania' and one of them is Dinesh's 'Badlapur' sequel.


However, no official statement has been made by Varun but one thing is confirmed that Deepika will not play the lead in 'Badlapur 2'.
