Mumbai: Bollywood didn’t have a great time at the Box Office in 2017. Only a handful of big films lived up to the hype and expectations and the rest proved to be dismal failures.
Small budget and non-Khan starrer films did relatively well at the Box Office besides superstar Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again. The year thankfully ended on a happy note with Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai minting over Rs 250 crores in just 10 days.
But 2018 has a number of new things to offer to Bollywood fans! This year, we will see a number of fresh on screen pairings. Check out the new reel-jodis to look forward to this year:
The very talented Radhika Apte will be playing Akshay Kumar’s on screen wife on R Balki’s Padman, a film based on Padma Shri awardee Arunachalam Muruganantham’s noble initiate that played a pivotal role in creating awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India.
The film is slated to release on January 26.
Both Shahid and Deepika have been in the industry for over a decade. It took them really long to team up for a film as a couple. They will be playing man and wife in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavat.
The new release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Real life couple Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, who had teamed up for a song in the past will be romancing each other in a film for the first time. Disha has replaced Shraddha in the sequel to super-hit film Baaghi starring Tiger.
The film directed by Ahmed Khan will hit the screen on April 27.
Alia Bhatt who has been roped in by Meghna Gulzar for a film titled Raazi will share screen space with Vicky Kaushal. The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat, which narrates the tale of a Kashmiri woman married to a Pakistani man during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
The film is expected to release on May 11.
After romancing a much younger Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to pair with Rajkummar Rao in Atul Manjrekar’s Fanne Khan. The film also stars Anil Kapoor.
