Mumbai: Central Board of Film Certification chief Pahlaj Nihalani might be asked to step down, latest report suggests. The Chairman of the CBFC (Censor Board) has often been in news for all wrong reasons and this could probably be a reason to replace him.

According to a report in TOI, a meeting of CBFC members has been scheduled in Thiruvananthapuram on July 28.


The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sources have reportedly said that it has been indicated to Nihalani that he might be replaced.


A number of names are being suggested as Nihalani’s replacement. Buzz has it that Prakash Jha or TV producer-actor Chandraprakash Dwivedi or even Madhur Bhandarkar may be appointed for the position.


However, there has been no official announcement regarding the same.
