Now, there is another bit of news about India's official entry for Oscars. According to BollywoodLife.com, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 too was in the race for being selected for the Academy. Yes! How can we forget the magnum opus which earned huge moolah at the Box Office worldwide.

The report quotes a jury member as saying, “About 26 entries come from different languages. 12 from Hindi, 5 from Marathi, 5 from Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali. One film from Tamil comes to entry. Baahubali 2 in Telugu comes to Satakarni. We have seen movies of all languages till 16th of this month. After looking at them, Newton was selected considering all angles.”

Now, Newton will compete to get into the top 5 nominees for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars. So far, only three Indian movies—Mother India, Salaam Bombay and Lagaan have managed to get into the slot.
