New Delhi: Born on July 29, 1959, renowned Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt turns 58 today. The actor has been a part of the Hindi film industry since 1981 when he made his debut with the super hit film, 'Rocky'. Vidhaata:


Directed by Subhash Ghai with Trimurti Films as the producing company, Vidhaata was released on December 3, 1982. This was Dutt's second film which became a huge hit at the box office and also won the 1983 Filmfare Award. It also starred Dilip Kumar, Padmini Kolhapure, Sanjeev Kumar, Amrish Puri, Suresh Oberoi, Madan Puri, Shammi Kapoor and Sarika.


Sanjay Dutt plays the role of the son of a policeman who was killed by some goons. Dutt's character named Kunal grows up to be a handsome young man and the plot then follows the trials and tribulations his character goes through after his grandfather opposes his marriage with girlfriend Padmini.


Saajan:


Perhaps the best quality of Dutt is his diversity as an actor. He starred in a drama like 'Vidhaata' and also performed exceptionally well in romantic films—one of them being 'Saajan'.


Released on August 30, 1991, with Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles, Saajan tells the story of an orphan (Aman) who becomes friends with the wealthy Akash Verma (Salman). Once Aman starts writing poems under the pen name 'Sagar', his life changes forever. Dutt played Aman in the movie and did full justice to the role. The film was also the highest grossing Bollywood film of 1999.


Khalnayak:


Each one of us have heard 'Naayak nahi, Khalnayak Hoon Main'and probably the song still gives you goosebumps. The thriller 'Khalnayak' was when the actor's versatility as an actor could be seen and it starred Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit as well. Subhash Ghai directed the film and Ashok Ghai was the producer.


Munnabhai M.B.B.S:


After the release of this movie began the tradition of 'Jadu ki Jhappi' and Munna Bhai (played by Sanjay Dutt) instantaneously won our hearts. The film tells the story of a goon, who becomes a doctor by passing the MBBS exam through illegal ways. What's so good about that? Well, Munnabhai seems to be the best doctor out there, giving laughter and love as his medicine.


The movie released on December 19, 2003, and was received with open arms by the audience. Dutt, along with his sidekick, Arshad Warsi take us on a laughter ride in this Bollywood masterpiece.


Agneepath:


Dutt's latest Bollywood film, Agneepath released on January 26, 2012, which featured Sanjay in a negative role. Through his impeccable acting and convincing villain role, Dutt proved that he is indeed a versatile actor who could do justice to any kind of role.


The film also starred Hrithik Roshan, late actor Om Puri, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor. It tells the tale of Vijay Chauhan (Hrithik Roshan) who seeks revenge on his father's murderer, Kancha (Sanjay Dutt). Karan Malhotra directed the film with Karan Johar as the producer.
