Do you know the name of the most recalled car in India?

New Delhi: You would be surprised to know that the most recalled car in India is also one of the most successful sedans in the country.
And that is none other than the Honda City! A total of 254,133 units of the executive sedan were recalled in over three years. The data on car recalls was shared by Minister of State of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, G.M. Siddeshwara with the Rajya Sabha.
In a written reply he said that a total of 1,668,416 four wheelers and 101,014 two-wheelers have been recalled in India since July 2012, when the voluntary code of recall was adopted.
Over 1.7 million passenger vehicles have been recalled in India since 2012.
In September 2015, Honda Cars India Limited announced that it will voluntarily replace airbag inflators of 223,578 vehicles of previous generations of CR-V, Civic, City and Jazz as part of Honda's preventive global recall campaign concerning airBag inflators.
Honda has the highest number of recalls of 456,092 units followed by Volkswagen with 331,604 recalls. Then follows Ford at the third with 320,877 recalls and General Motors at the fourth place with 256,597 recalls.
