New Delhi: Fiat India will re-introduce their Punto hatchback in January 2016, and call it the Punto Pure.

According to carwale.com, the marketing outreach will be an attempt to clear the stocks of the old Punto that have remain unsold after the launch of the Punto Evo.

The Fiat Punto with selling points like sturdy build quality and superb handling was sold with two engine options – the 1.3-litre Multijet turbocharged diesel engine and the 1.4 FIRE naturally aspirated petrol engine. Both the engines were mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The website said that the classic Italian design is pleasing as against the current generation of aggressive looks.

The Punto Pure will be available in three trims – Active, Dynamic and Emotion with the Emotion being the top-spec variant.

The Fiat Punto is a premium hatchback and competes with the likes of the Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Baleno. Though the car is a generation older, if the pricing is right, it may still turn out to be a good value for money car provided you have an authorised service centre nearby, added the website.
