"By offering safety features like airbags for driver and co-driver, and ABS from the base variant onwards in Celerio, we are making it more attractive for customers. I am happy that we are able to offer these safety features much ahead of regulations,” said executive director, marketing and sales, R.S. Kalsi in a statement.

Launched in 2014, Celerio was the first car in India to be equipped with the auto gear shift technology which offers convenience of driving especially in heavy traffic conditions without any compromise on fuel economy.

Celerio – which has sold over 1.3 lakh units – is also the first car from the company to get the compact diesel engine and the only hatchback in its segment to come in three fuel options – namely, petrol, diesel and CNG.
