Renault Lodgy prices revised; now starts at Rs 7.59 Lakh

Renault India has revised the prices of the Lodgy, with the entry-level variants witnessing a significant price cut. Launched in April last year, the Lodgy was introduced with prices ranging between Rs 8.19 and Rs 10.89 lakh for the 85PS variants (ex-showroom, Delhi). As per the official site, the prices now start at Rs 7.59 lakh and go up to Rs 10.99 lakh.
The Lodgy STD is cheaper by Rs 60,000, while the RxE and RxL get a price cut of Rs 42,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. However, while the three entry-level variants of the Lodgy are now more affordable, all the other variants cost more. Here’s a look at the old vs new prices:
Renault launched the Lodgy in the hopes that it could build up on the success of the Duster and rival the likes of the Maruti Ertiga. However, the MPV hasn’t been as well received as the French automaker would’ve liked, with sales hovering around the 500 unit mark every month (Ertiga manages around 5500 units each month).
The MPV is powered by the K9K diesel engine used in many Renault and Nissan vehicles and is offered in two states of tune. The lower spec motor (equipped with a fixed geometry turbocharger) makes 85PS of power at 3750rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1900rpm, and comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. In the more powerful spec, the engine (equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger) produces 110PS of power at 4000rpm and 245Nm of torque at 1750rpm, with transmission duties handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Lodgy is neither offered with a petrol engine, nor does it get the option of an automatic gearbox. However, reports suggest that Renault may offer the 110PS variant with the ‘Easy-r’ 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
