New Delhi: Tata Motors is planning a turnaround for passenger vehicles strategy and is looking at rolling out at least 5 new cars before 2019. 


The company is likely to unveil the new model ‘Kite’ in December, 2015. Indian car market is likley to see SUVs from Tata Motors codenamed Eagle and X104 in 2016-17. Another SUV X601 launch is aimed in 2018 and rollout of sedan Q5 is targeted in 2019.


According to CNBC-TV18, Tata Motors is planning to discourage commercial use of new passenger cars and is likely to phase out some of the existing vehicles in this segment including Indigo following the new launches.


The report adds that the company will also look at investing in expanding its dealerships across the country.


The company plans to add 200 touch points this year and expects to increase the same to around 1,500 over the next 5 years.
