New Delhi: Amid a weakening global trend and profit-booking by speculators, gold futures traded lower by over 1 percent at Rs 30,036 per 10 gram Monday.

Gold for delivery in June was trading lower by Rs 242, or 1.13 percent, to Rs 30,036 per 10 gram at the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 5,361 lots.


Metal for delivery in far-month August was also trading lower by Rs 244, or 1.12 percent, at Rs 30,245 per 10 gram in 139 lots.
Globally, gold prices fell 0.12 percent to USD 1,282 an ounce in Singapore.


Analysts said the fall in gold futures was mostly in tandem with a weak trend overseas and weakness in the precious metal at the domestic spot markets.
