New Delhi: Now, domestic passengers traveling by Air India will have the facility of self-check-in at 26 airports in India.

The state carrier began the initiative on May 1 under which passengers will be able to have boarding passes by using the self-check-in kiosks set up in the airports.

"National carrier Air India has re-defined customer convenience by becoming the first airline to launch self-check-in kiosks for its domestic fliers that aims to make the customer service hassle free and the check-in process expeditious," the airline said in a statement.

"The self-check-in kiosks helps in extended service availability, reduce customer wait time, eliminates queues, expands service capacity with multiple kiosks, thereby speeding up the check-in experience, added the state carrier."
