Bihar minister S P Yadav resigns after issue of arrest warrant
Patna, Apr 09: Bihar Minister of State for excise and prohibition Surendra Prasad Yadav resigned today following the issue of Non-Bailable Warrant of arrest by a Gaya court for allegedly kidnapping a businessman, criminal conspiracy and obstruction of the police in the discharge of their official duties.

allegedly kidnapping a businessman, criminal conspiracy and
obstruction of the police in the discharge of their official
duties.
Yadav submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Rabri
Devi which was accepted by Governor V C Pande, official
sources said.
The arrest warrants were issued against the minister,
RJD MLC Azad Gandhi and Pappu Yadav, brother in-law of
Subhash Yadav, MLC who is the brother of the Chief Minister.
Gaya police Superintendent Ravindra Shankaran said all possible steps were being taken to comply with the court`s order to arrest the accused, including the minister.
The charges against them were illegal confinement and assault of Atul Prakash Sinha, a Patna-based businessman, currently settled in Gujarat, who was arrested by a Bihar police team on April four.
The businessman was arrested on a complaint lodged with the Kotwali police station in Patna that he had allegedly defrauded some Bihar politicians of several lakhs of rupees before fleeing to Anand in Gujarat. Bureau Report
