Chairman of Essel Group and Zee, Dr Subhash Chandra on Friday announced that his group is keen on investing Rs 4,000 crore in West Bengal in the next two years. Dr Chandra made this announcement at Bengal Global Business Summit-2016 in Kolkata.

“Our group will invest Rs 4,000 crore in West Bengal in the next two years. I can assure that the impact of these investments will be like 40,000 crore,” Dr Chandra said.

Dr Chandra also claimed that Bengal will grow further and achieve greater success in the coming year.

Inspiring the youngsters at the event, he said, “It’s not the smart or most intelligent people who succeed, but people who adapt to the change do. West Bengal has smart people. The leadership over here adapted to changes. Thus, it is the sixth largest economy in the country.”

The event, which drew investors and industry captains from about 25 countries, was kicked off at Kolkata’s Milan Mela Ground. The summit is being held to collaborate with the business community and investors from across the country.
