Lucknow, May 10: Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Vinay Katiyar today claimed that evidence collected so far during the excavation work at the acquired land in Ayodhya established that a Hindu temple existed prior to the construction of the Barbri Masjid.
"Sufficient evidence has been found during the excavation in Ayodhya to establish that the Babri Masjid was built after demolishing the Hindu temple," he told reporters here.

"The archaeologists undertaking the excavation work at Ayodhya should have full freedom to carry on with their job as long as they desired," Katiyar said.

"The excavation work should be shown on closed circuit TV so that the world could see how the foreign invaders had demolished the Hindu culture," he said.

Katiyar asked the Muslims to give up their claim on the disputed land and lend support to the Ram Temple construction.
"Or else, the Hindu society will be forced to demand excavation at all 3500 places, including Qutub Minar and Ajmer Sharif, where the foreign invaders had built mosques after demolishing Hindu temples."
