Panama Papers leak: Indians with hidden wealth in secret offshore companies

New Delhi: Millions of documents of the Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonesca reveal that more than 500 Indians have set up secret offshore companies in the tax haven Panama to stock up their wealth.

The Indian Express has named Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai who sough the law firm's help to set up an offshore company. Among the others named in the list are Iqbal Mirchi—the late Mumbai ganglord, Vinod Adani, elder brother of the Chairman and founder of Adani group Gautam Adani, Realtor KP Singh and nine members of his family, Indiabulls owner Sameer Gehlaut, promoters of Apollo Tyres.
