New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a SpiceJet plane lost its tyre as it took off from Bengaluru on Tuesday. However, no collateral damage, injury or casualty was reported because the flight managed to land safely at Kolkata, its scheduled destination.

There were 211 passengers and seven crew members on board.

As per sources, the ground staff at the Bengaluru airport came to know about the tyre-burst at the rear landing gear at 8.30 p.m. Soon after they informed the air traffic control which in turn intimated the pilot in the plane who made an emergency landing in Kolkata.

A similar incident happened in May last year when a Mumbai-Goa SpiceJet plane, with 146 passengers on board, landed safely at Dabolim airport, despite one of its tyres found damaged during its take-off in Mumbai.
