Kolkata, May 29: Reeling under the severe heat wave, the city heaved a sigh of relief as the private power utility CESC Ltd today announced the restoration of the 250 MW unit-l of the Budge Budge Thermal Power Plant thus ending the four days of frequent power cuts. The unit-l of the 500 mw Budge Budge Power Plant was restored this morning as the leak in the boiler was repaired and now there is steady supply of power in the city, a spokesman of the CESC Ltd said. He also said that with the restoration of one of the units of Budge Budge, there would not be any more power cuts in the city areas served by the CESC Ltd. The Budge Budge unit tripped last Monday and since then large areas of the city had been experiencing long hours of power cuts. Bureau Report
