Lucknow, May 29: The CB-CID probing Madhumita Shukla murder case has got the statement of the key witness and the domestic help of the slain poetess recorded in the court, sources said here today. Deshraj, the servant of the poetess, was produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate B K Mishra last evening where his statement was recorded in camera, sources said adding CB-CID refused to divulge the details of his statement. Deshraj, 12, the sole eyewitness in the case, narrated the whole sequence of the day Madhumita was shot dead by two assailants, the sources said adding on the basis of his testimony CB-CID sleuths prepared the sketch of the killers. The CB-CID was concentrating on locating Satya Prakash, one of the assailants who was with Madhumita in the room where she was later found shot dead, they said.


Madhumita's sister Nidhi had created a sensation by alleging that sacked state minister Amar Mani Tripathi was having an affair with the poetess and that she was killed at the behest of the minister's wife who did not approve of their relationship. She later retracted her statement.
A diary containing details of her relationship with Tripathi and railway coupons worth Rs 50,000 were recovered from the slain poetess' residence. Bureau Report
