New Delhi: Travelling by train would be so much more convenient if the amenities served in the trains get better, a study concluded.

The Times of India has reported that a survey conducted on what they expected from the Rail Budget, around 35% of the participants surveyed, wanted better amenities and services to be the focus of this year's railway budget.

The survey was done on more than 1,50,000 citizens. The surveyed participants also wanted better security( 30% of them), which ranked second on the wishlist, followed by cleanliness( 19%) and timeliness( 16%).

In the previous year's survey, the need for cleanliness topped the chart, which the participants felt had improved.

They felt that the hygiene and quality of food has remained a concern. The participants also felt that the change in the train time or cancellation should be informed through SMS.

Attention was also drawn on the need to improve the helplines and information display on the railway stations, toilet hygiene and need of more dustbins.
