Select pulses remain up on tight supply
Select pulses prices continued their upward trend and strengthened up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale market on Friday on persistent buying by stockists.
New Delhi: Select pulses prices continued their upward trend and strengthened up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale market on Friday on persistent buying by stockists.
Besides, tight stocks position also influenced sentiments.
Marketmen said persistent buying by stockists to meet surging demand against paucity of stocks on restricted supplies in the market, mainly lifted prices of select pulses further.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety gained another Rs 500 each to Rs 12,500-12,900 and Rs 14,100-14,300 per quintal, respectively.
Urad and its dal chilka local advanced by Rs 100 each to Rs 9,900-11,000 and Rs 11,000-11,200 per quintal respectively.
Urad dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and edged up by a similar margin to Rs 11,100-11,700 and Rs 11,500-11,700 per quintal, respectively.
Moong and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 300 each to Rs 7,800-8,400 and Rs 8,400-8,800 per quintal, respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 8,700-9,200 and Rs 9200-9,400 per quintal respectively.
Moth also went up by Rs 300 to Rs 5,900-6,300 and rajmah chitra edged up by Rs 100 to Rs 5,000-6,400 per quintal respectively.
