New Delhi, Nov 23: Finance minister of group of 20 nations (G-20) will meet today in the Capital. India will be discussing its concerns of globalisation, financial sector reforms and the difficulties in combating funding of terrorism while stressing the need for stepping up developmental aid. The meeting got under way with secretaries of G-8 industrialised nations along with developing countries including India, China, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico attending it. Yesterday`s official level meeting prepared the groundwork for the finance ministerial meet today to be headed by Finance Minister Jaswant Singh.
R The G-20 meeting will discuss issues crucial for international financial stability such as crisis prevention and resolution, globalisation, combating financing of terrorism, development and aid flows. Countries like India and China could take up the issues related to growth while other nations could address the issues of fiscal deficit.

This will be the first time a developing nation is hosting the meeting of finance ministers and Central Bank governors. Besides India and the emerging economies, the meeting would be attended by top finance officials of European Union, US, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, Russia, Australia, World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

G-20, formed in 1999, would bring together economic policy makers from countries representing over 85 per cent of the world GDP and over 60 per cent of global population.
