New Delhi: Amidst the wide circulation of fake currency in the market, it is advisable that we should always check the currency note before accepting it –more so if it is of a huge denomination.


 


Though improving security features of bank notes and preventing entry of fake currency are ways to deal with the problem, here is what you can do at your end and ensure that you don't land up with one.


As per RBI guidelines, these security features must be checked in an Indian currency note.

Intaglio


Identification Mark


Fluorescence


Optically Variable Ink


See through Register     


These notes contain distinct easily recognizable security features to facilitate the detection of genuine notes vis-à-vis the fake ones.

If  all the features are there in the note, it is an original currency note. But even if a single feature is missing, don't accept it.
