Forex dealers said a strong opening in domestic equity markets supported the rupee, but dollar's strength against other currencies overseas capped gains.

The rupee had firming up by 10 paise to 66 against the dollar in yesterday's trade on fag-end selling of the American currency by banks and exporters on the back of lower greenback in the overseas market.
