Loire Valley, Aug 07: An estimated 1,500 people from twenty countries are currently participating in a nine-day 26th annual yoga festival here with its main theme "The Spirit of India." The festival began with the display of Kundalini Yoga, a healing meditation and introductory classes for first-time participants.
Yogi Bhajan, founder of the 3HO (happy, healthy, holy) foundation, organised the festival and Bibiji Inderjit Kaur, wife of Yogi Bhajan and Bhair Sahiba of Sikh Dharma International is teaching among other things "family unity and the fulfillment in conscious relationships," at the camp. Each year, the festival highlights a specific aspect of yoga. This year's theme is "peace for all."
Yogi Bhajan says, "Let there be peace... Peace of mind and peace with humankind. People from over twenty countries in all five continents, have come to experience some of the key aspects of the inaugural theme: The Spirit of India. Not only are there classes in Kundalini Yoga and the yogic sciences, but there is also an Indian-style bazaar with many items and clothing directly from India."
The festival concludes on Friday. According to Yogi Bhajan, the overall experience at the yoga festival is designed to give participants a sense of healing, inner peace and relaxation. Bureau Report
