New Delhi: Rumors have been doing the rounds for months now regarding a video call facility with WhatsApp. However, this latest report brings with it some accuracy in the 'rumors'.

According to Android Police, the Facebook-owned Messaging app is trying a video calling feature. However, this feature is on beta testing for iOS, which is available only for few devices running the beta version of the app.

Considering the recent updates of WhatsApp such as end-to-end encryption, it is very much expected that the messaging app with soon come up with a video calling option.

In the past, the company had launched the voice calling option but in a phase to phase manner by allowing users to invite others during a limited time window.

Should the company's video calling work, it will be competing against such as Skype, imo and Messenger.
