New Delhi: The free Wi-Fi hotspots have made inroads nto the National Capital Region, and owing to ever rising competition, are likely to stay. Airtel launched public Wi-Fi hotspots in Gurgaon on Monday. Earlier Paytm had announced that it will offer a 15-minute free W-Fi in select metro stations for using Paytm account.

People visiting MG Road, Sadar Bazaar, Sector 29 market and Sarhaul Village can enjoy free Wi-Fi sessions on their mobile handsets.

Unlike Paytm's offering in Noida, the Wi-Fi would be available to all those with Wi-Fi compatible device.

The user, when in proximity to the Wi-Fi hotspot, will have to adjust the setting in the phone and connect to 'MSG powered by Airtel'.

The free data will be available for 30 minutes per day per device. In case of prolonged usage, beyond 30 minutes, the service becomes paid, though only nominal amount will be charged.

While Airtel users will pay through their data plan/packs, non-Airtel users will have to buy online vouchers. Airtel customers can also connect to the Wi-Fi using the Airtel Hangout app.
