New Delhi: Digital payment platform FreeCharge on Monday announced that its wallet is now accepted at 1,00,000 merchants in India.

With its less-than-10 seconds payment completion promise, FreeCharge has rapidly gained acceptance as a trusted and easy-to-use replacement for cash among merchants and consumers.


"In the last eight months, we have expanded our reach in various sectors like food and beverages, e-commerce, retail, entertainment and ticketing, etc.


We have built a robust ecosystem by fostering a series of partnerships to achieve our mission of becoming the `Digital Payment OS` of India," said Govind Rajan, CEO, FreeCharge, in a statement.


FreeCharge expanded its reach by partnering with payment aggregators like ePaisa, CCAvenue, Ezetap and Pine Labs to facilitate payments through Freecharge wallet at various PoS terminals and online payment gateways.


The company has also forged partnerships with brands like Shoppers Stop, McDonalds, Cafe Coffee Day, Cleartrip and RedBus, etc.
