New child-friendly search engine `Thinga` launched
For the moment, Thinga does not have an app, but the site is mobile-friendly and free to access.
Designer BJ Heiney at The Bear James Company, who previously worked on the now-defunct Yahoo Kids, has created a new kid-friendly search engine called Thinga, TechCrunch reports.
Children (the site is designed for elementary school-aged kids) can search just like they would do with any regular browser, but the results are pulled from from a list that has already been validated as "safe." The homepage itself has also been designed to appeal to a modern generation, with videos and "cool," "learn" and "life" tabs.
