New Delhi: Raksha SafeDrive is a connected car device that automatically calls for help if the car driver crashes, and alerts family and friends thus enabling a faster response.

Most of the fatalities in road accidents in India happened due to lack of timely emergency first aid.

The device has gone live on the global crowd-funding platform on creativity, Kickstarter, and follows the subscription model for revenue. The revenue comes from the one-time device cost and a monthly or yearly fee for continuous accident monitoring and human assistance for emergencies, roadside assistance and parking location retrieval.

The bookings for the device are on, and can be purchased as a standalone unit by individual customers or in bulk by fleet operators. The initial orders will get 25 percent discount on the bookings.

Once fitted above the dashboard of the car, it's capable of GPS tracking, automatic crash detection, and offering one-touch voice connectivity in the event of a vehicle breakdown.

Raksha SafeDrive's integrated crash sensors can detect and connect round the clock to a network of emergency services -medical, police, fire, breakdown- at the touch of button; all delivered through direct human assistance.

Family and or friends can also be notified via phone call and SMS in case of emergency using the device, as long as the area has cellular connectivity.

The device will have also have a multilingual call center support.
