New Delhi: Vodafone India on Friday launched a facility allowing customers in Delhi and NCR to choose the numeric combination of their choice in the mobile numbers.

The facility would be available to both pre-paid and post-paid customers of the company.


"Customers can approach any of the 52 stores, 212 mini stores and over 40,000 multi-brand outlets, from where they buy the new connections, for the availability of the desired combination," Vodafone said in a statement.


An official of the company said for post-paid customers, first 4 digits are fixed and for pre-paid, first 5 digits are fixed, rest of the combination can be chosen by the customers.


"Our customer research also indicates that there is a deep interest amongst the mobile users to have numbers aligned with some significant event in their lives," Vodafone India Business Head (Delhi and NCR) Apoorva Mehrotra said.


Vodafone India said it has invested Rs 1,11,000 crore in the country since its entry in 2007, and will invest an additional Rs 13,000 crore for capacity augmentation and new business initiatives.
